3 rides per week:
Extra rides included for walk & talks if horse use is available and riders are in good standing at the barn. Extra time at the barn to groom & graze any day rides are scheduled.
Opportunity to be a member of the University's Equestrian Club (not required to participate at Winter Hill).
All levels welcome. Focus on riding theory, technique, and conditioning. Riders hoping to compete above 2' may consider a lease or boarding their own horse/lease horse.
Each semester team riders can enter the ANRC Virtual Tournament as well as participate in other club events.

Winter Hill Horse Lease
1/2 Lease: $750/month (3 days)
Full Lease: $1500/month (5-6 days)
4th year riders can talk to KC about a non-competitive, non-training program.
*School horses may still be used in school horse program, however lease horse rider is guaranteed their horse on their ride day and time.
If a Longwood Equestrian rider would like to arrange a lease of an outside show horse to meet their needs and goals we work with trainers all over the country to provided horses for this program. Generally an annual lease fee is negotiated with owner of the horse, and student is responsible for this fee as well as all horse expenses as a boarder at Winter Hill.
Inclement weather- lease riders and boarders can work on horsemanship areas in the barn or arrange to ship to the indoor.
Indoor fee: $15/rider per trip
Shipping fee: $15/rider per trip

For riders interested in a lesson and training program geared toward horse show preparation. Talk to us about your goals and we will arrange some time to create a program appropriate to your goals, schedule, and budget.
Single lessons off farm or Ship In: $65

Riders are responsible for all show expenses including entries, Coaching, Horse Use, Shipping, Stabling , etc.
Horse Show Coaching: $100/day
Additional fees may include: Groom fee, braiding, overnight show set up and day care, shipping, staff per diem split, and fees to show (entries, stabling, tack stall, paddock, bedding, hay, etc.)
Collegiate Show entries vary from $40-$100 per show.
Team Coaching is $350 per day (per team, split by riders or fundraised) for team shows (local shows or IHSA).
Horse Use at Horse Show: $100
Shared Horse Use: $65
Shipping: Varies (Doubletree $50 per horse, Lynchburg $85 per horse, Horse Center $125 per horse)
